Welcome to our honeymoon blog! In 3 days we will be headed to Australia for a much anticipated month long getaway. We want to use this blog as a way to stay connected with everyone as well as a journal to keep track of all of our adventures. Our wedding was 10/2/10 but planning for this trip started well before that...in fact, in typical April-and-Luke-get-ahead-of-themselves fashion we started getting ideas for this about the same time we got engaged. Our pattern from then until now was to come up with many great ideas, then forget them, then think of a new set weeks later, then realize we need to plan the wedding and not this trip...or as we named this entry...Plan...Procrastinate...Repeat.
The plan two years ago meant deciding where we wanted to go for our honeymoon...15 seconds later we penciled in Australia...we had no idea what we were getting into. Procrastinating at this point had nothing to do with the trip and everything to do with wedding planning. April would be emailing guest lists, flower ideas, dress colors...and I would email back "looks good" with a link to a boat cruise of the Great Barrier Reef. Whoever said wedding planning was hard?
Once the wedding ended, our trip procrastination began. We were both so happy with how the wedding went that we didn't think about serious planning for the trip for several weeks. Eventually the emails started flowing with all our ideas for what we wanted to do and those links I sent two years earlier started to become actual plans.
That brings us to about two weeks ago when our final plans started to come together...and did we ever have some great plans for how the time leading up to the trip would go. April decided she would pack all her clothes a week ahead of time so she could think about what she really needed to bring or not. I decided I would start this blog and make sure everything was set. Well, now we're 3 days out and halfway done with laundry...and halfway through this blog...procrastination has returned!
Ready or not in 3 days we will be on a plane so check back in to follow along with us on our trip. We will try to update this as much as our activities and internet access will allow.
